Im not sure about Podgorica, I found it quite dull when I was there last year.
What impressed me as a tourist last year was the coastline of Igale, HN, Budva & Kotor etc
I'm wondering what is Podgorica's most important landmark. To rephrase my question - I know that 99,9% of our residents adore each stone of our town, but what is the site that we should show to a foreign turist as the most interesting one? Is it The Partizan Fighter's Monument, our Grammar School, The Montenegrin National Theatre, or maybe The Millenium Bridge?

Do not show them Millenium Bridge, they would laugh at us (althought the birdge is nice
I am not so sure if there is something interesting in Podgorica, tour them through Dajbabe and Gorica, to see PG from above.

Have a parachute.
I surely wouldn't show The Milennium, but in a few years (I mean-decades)...

Yes-Grammar School...I think none ever thought of presenting the grammar school to tourists for a good f***ing reason!Originally Posted by Innuendo
You should sit them down in HOtel cRna Gora for a nice ice-cream & a chat & than move them down to the coast.

I would be very interested in having a look at all the wineyards around the city. Something like walking around and seeing how the winegrapes grow, what they do with it all and the big barrels where they keep the wine in storage. A funny but cool guide could tell the people what type of winegrapes are grown in Montenegro and the history of the wine production in the area.
Also, wine-tasting and dinners with locally grown vegetables and locally produced meat with wine from the area could accentuate the whole "Made in Montenegro"-brand and bring more awareness about the culture in the country. And I bet that the export and sale of these locally produced items would increase by at least the double.
Shiney you have a PM :-)
I hope I was helpful :-)

I'm glad that this topic is active again. Well, I am not sure whether we should be using our capital as something very interesting for the tourists, neither. I will, personally, rather ask tourists to go out somewhere, than take them sightseeing.
Every once in a while, when I have an oportunity to go out with a foreigner, I take him out somewhere where there's good beer :-)
For example, last year, there was one guy called Larry (an exchange student from Dallas) and whom we planned to take to one of those "Very nice" parties. But before we took him there, we had taken him to "Fontana" (I'm sure you all know where that is) to have a beer or two. You should have seen him - an African American sipping "Niksicko" and saying: "Ahh, this is the finest beer of all the lands!"
I will dare to say that he was more than glad he was there. So, this might be an alterative way to amuse our visitors!
Cheers!

I am not sure just how much my female friends would appreciate Nikshicjko...
but in any case...if a person HAS to be in our lovely capital, i would take him or her to some of the nice restaurants... like the one on the river called ognjishte...if that still exists...(havent been home in ages)
Well, you females figure something else out :-)
I believe that that restairant still exists.
Where you at?

He is not a student,he is actually lecturing at some University in Dallas.
Regarding the topic,u might just think about getting the foreigner drunk before u decide to take him out and show him "a lil` bit of Podgorica",because this city has nothing to offer to a person that comes from abroad.Believe me.Except for beer and very beautiful and very stupid girls. That`s why I love this city :P
podgorica is place that u don't visit, u live in it...
then again, if u do need to show them something, i guess it would be zabjelo (smiley face)
Once we were big but then 1918 came...
